Whether you're a seasoned pro or a weekend enthusiast, the courses of Shigaraki deliver not just a game, but a memorable experience that perfectly blends sport, nature, and culture.

Topicks

The Japan Open Golf Championship is coming to Shigaraki.

From October 15–18, 2026, Japan’s national open will be played at Tarao Country Club’s West Course, a venue already known for testing the very best players.

In May 2025, Tarao hosted U.S. Open Final Qualifying, where firm greens, deep rough and narrow sightlines quickly separated the field. That same course now sets the stage for the Japan Open.

Expect fast bentgrass greens, thoughtful pin positions, and a championship that rewards precision and patience rather than power.

For Shigaraki, it’s a major moment.
For golfers, it’s a serious test.
